Help me help the Salvos this Weekend?

26 May, 2017 · Posted by Rachael Goldsworthy

Door Knock Appeal or Red Shield Appeal 2017
Help Me Help the Salvos this weekend.

The Red Shield Appeal is The Salvation Army’s signature fundraising drive which helps fund a vast network of social and community services.

The Red Shield Doorknock is held on the last weekend in May. The appeal began in 1965 and is promoted under the red shield symbol. Each year The Salvation Army appeals to the Australian community to ensure they can give hope where it is needed most through their social welfare and community service programs.

These programs are relied upon by vulnerable Australians every single day. They range from providing shelter for the homeless, assisting families in crisis through practical support and financial counselling, to guiding people with addictions through to a clean, healthy lifestyle.

The appeal invites all Australians – individuals and businesses – to be their partners in mission.

I encourage you to join me in supporting the Salvos this weekend, thank you.

Rachael

Happy Nurse’s Day

12 May, 2017 · Posted by Rachael Goldsworthy

Happy International Nurses Day! Today we celebrate the wonderful work of all nurses locally and around the world.

In January 1974, 12 May was chosen to celebrate the day as it is the anniversary of the birth of Florence Nightingale, the founder of modern nursing.

Congratulations to Sarah Brown of Alice Springs for winning 2017 Nurse of the Year for establishing the Alice Springs-based Western Desert Dialysis to provide social support services, allied health and ‘on-country’ dialysis services for Aboriginal people experiencing kidney disease that live in remote communities in central Australia.

Episode #45 The Drive Home to the Hawkesbury – Top 10 Ways to Celebrate Easter in the Hawkesbury

13 April, 2017 · Posted by Rachael Goldsworthy

Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening, depending on when you’re reading this blog. I’m Rachael Goldsworthy checking in with you on the drive home to Hawkesbury before we head into the Easter long weekend.

Easter means different things to all of us and even though sometimes we all get caught up with our busy lives in work and home, these long weekends and special times of the year, reminds me of how important it is to take time out to spend with the people that we love.

It is a short message today however I just wanted to say to you, have a great Easter and hope you get to spend it with the people that you love, as I will be doing over the long weekend. And I also wanted to also say a big thank you. Thank you to everyone for supporting the business. Your support means a lot to me, and I do appreciate the opportunity to serve the local community. Take care of yourself over this special Easter period and safe travels if you are heading away for the long weekend and I look forward to hearing from you and all your Eggsellent news of the weekend when we’re back in the office on Tuesday. Take care and all the best.

Here are our top 10 ways to celebrate this Easter in the Hawkesbury.

8. Like cooking? Try your hand at making Traditional Hot Cross Buns.

9. Looking for something to make with the kids? Why not try making an Easter Tree which is a traditional custom from some European countries. 10. Why not have some fun with an Easter Egg Rolling competition. Find a hill and start with raw eggs and see the first unbroken egg makes to make it over the finish line at the bottom of the hill.

Enjoy your Easter in the Hawkesbury and let me know if you need more information on the local area or I can be of further assistance with your real estate needs.
